Photo Scavenger Hunt 2025
Rules:
Starting the game:
The game begins when Bro. Coleton says so. So listen up!
Here are the rules:
No running! Do not run in the mall or in any of the stores. If any person from your team is caught running, your team will lose 100 points.
Be respectful! Treat everyone that you encounter with respect.
Send your photos! All photos for your team must be sent by your team captain. They must text it to Bro. Coleton: (825) 439-6970.
In the first text, please include your name and list of teammates. For example: “Sandra Mendoza, Josh Esguerra, Justine Dino, and Liam Lazalita”
When you send a photo include the name of the photo. For example: “Don’t Become Jonah”
Read the instructions! Photos must contain the amount of team members specified in the instructions. Points will not be awarded if the photo instructions are not followed properly.
Photos count only one time. You may only get points one time per photo.
Bonus points for speed! Your team will get a bonus of 25 points for being the first team to submit a photo.
Keep them separate! Do not combine multiple photo quests into one photo.
Stranger Danger! Do NOT give your phone to a stranger to take the photos.
Leave no trace! If you remove an item from a shelf, place it back where you found it.
Don’t split! Groups are not allowed to split up. The entire group must stay together for the entire event. You must be in eyesight of your team leaders for the entire event. If your team is caught splitting up, your team will be deducted 200 points.
Stay inside! You may not go outside of West Edmonton Mall, (except in the case of emergency).
Do your best! You do not have to take every photo, just as many as you can.
Most points wins! The team earning the most points wins. Have fun and play fair. Remember, it’s just a game!
PRIZE: The prize for the winning team is a free dipped ice cream cone from Dairy Queen.
End time:
Teams need to meet back before 8:30 pm to the food court in phase 3 on the side nearest the mini-golf course (The food court with Chick-fil-A, nearest the Lego store).
If your team is late returning, 150 points will be deducted from your total team points. If the clock says 8:30, you’re late! Please use an iPhone clock as the official game time.
All of your teammates need to be with you to count as “returned.”
You must check-in with Bro. Coleton by 8:30 pm to be considered “returned”
Envelope Challenges
Rules: Go to the front of the location marked on the outside of the envelope. Don’t go inside of the store unless instructed so in the video. Please film yourself opening the envelopes when you arrive at the location marked on the envelope. Watch the video linked with the QR code inside and follow the video’s instructions. Film yourself doing the challenge.
Photo Quests:
80 Points - Accidental Photo-bomb: Get a photo of your entire team (minus your photographer) with Bro. Coleton in the background, BUT he cannot know you are taking a photo of him. Bro. Coleton must text you “CAUGHT” before you send your photo in to count as “knowing” you are taking a picture of him. A bonus 40 points is awarded if you get Miss Bea in the photo as well.
80 Points - Food Court Tourist: Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of two different food courts.
50 Points - Going International: Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) with both an American and Canadian flag in the background at the same time.
150 Points - Published: At least three teammates must find a book with their first name on it, spelled as they spell their name. You may use your nickname or the name you normally go by if it is not your first name. Once you have found a book, you must take a photo of each teammate holding their book. These books do not need to be from the same store. This challenge requires 3 photos to be sent. They must be sent at the same time to count.
20 Points - Water Feature: Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of a water feature or water fountain.
50 Points - Headless: Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of a mannequin with no head.

50 Points - Don’t Become Jonah
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of the mouth of the bronze whale statue.
20 Points - Become an Action Figure
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) posing in the same pose as an action figure you find at any store.
50 Points - Beaver Buddy
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) with this plushie beaver.
80 Points - Matching Shoes
Inside of a shoe-store, find a pair of shoes that matches the pair one of your teammates are currently wearing. Take a photo of the new pair of shoes next to the shoes you are wearing.
Matching means: same brand and same colour.
A bonus 80 points will be awarded if they are the exact same model of shoe, any colour.
50 Points - Go-Kart
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of the display model go-kart.
50 Points - Stylish Sardines
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) with this tin of sardines in frame.
50 Points - Pack mule
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of the yellow backpack that looks large enough to fit a small person in it.
20 Points - Toyota Time
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) posing in front of a Toyota brand vehicle.
50 Points - Stylin’ Statues
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of a mannequin wearing a suit.
50 Points - Coleton’s Skylight
Your team must take a picture of at least one person on your team with Coleton’s “favourite” skylight in the photo. (Must be this exact skylight)
20 Points - Play La Bamba!
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of something with the oilers logo on it.
50 Points - Liquid Gold
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of the oil workers statue.
50 Points - Frozen Flying
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of the figure skating statue.
50 Points - Bea’s skylight
Your team must take a picture of at least one person on your team with Bea’s favourite skylight in the background. (Must be this exact skylight)
20 Points - Merry Go Round
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of a merry go round.
80 Points - Patriotic
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of this exact flower wall.
20 Points - Crocodile
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of any crocodile.
50 Points - The Bee’s Knees
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of these bees.
80 Points - You Are a Pirate
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of the pirate ship, taken from the second floor.
20 Points - Large Lego Logo Light
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of a large Lego logo light-up sign. This cannot also count as your “Become Lego-sized” photo.
50 Points - Become Lego-sized
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of a giant lego creation that is on top of the lego store. This cannot also count as your “Large Lego Logo Light” photo.
120 Points - Photo-op
Your team must pay for a picture of at least two team members from one of these photo booths. You must bring the photo to Bro. Coleton before 8:30 PM for it to count for points.
80 Points - I Choose You
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of this exact Pikachu plushi while display pointing at Pikachu.
80 Points - Tiny Tent City
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front this exact tent.
50 Points - Admire Pretty Pottery
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of a vase that is taller than you.
120 Points - Big Apple
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of a New York City subway car.
20 Points - Snap a Sale
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of a sign that says “SALE.”
20 Points - Spot Stitch
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of Stitch. He may be in any form (plushie, photo, etc.)
120 Points - See What All The Buzz is About
Your team must take a selfie of EVERYONE in your team from within this Volkswagen ID. Buzz van. Please be respectful of others and to the VW staff.
50 Points - Fancy Fishy
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in front of this fish.
80 Points - Gawk at the gummy
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) in awe of this particular gummy bear.
50 Points - Dragon Bridge
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) on this bridge under the dragon.
20 Points - Going Up?
Your team must take a selfie of EVERYONE in your team from within an elevator.
50 Points - Cha-Cha Real Smooth
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) holding this exact flavour and brand of sunflower seeds.
80 Points - Find these fish
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) holding this exact bag of tiny fish.
120 Points - “Kiss Burn…”
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) holding a food package which says “Kiss Burn” on it. It is inside of T&T.
120 Points - Finding Nemo
Your team must take a picture of one teammate in front of these particular live fish. Nemo AND Dory must be in frame.
80 Points - Find this floor (#1)
Your team must take a picture of one teammate standing on this floor.
80 Points - Dazzling Displays
Your team must take a picture of everyone but one person (your photographer) standing between these two displays.
